In our office, we spend a lot of time to make our fillings functional and very cosmetic. Above, you can see what appears to be a small cavity. As we slowly remove the decay, it quickly becomes evident that the decay is much more destructive and larger than we thought. The final photograph is of the finished filling. Not only have we duplicated the ideal anatomy of the tooth, we take the time to bring the filling to a high polish. The smoother the filling, the more resistant it will be to future decay. Not all dental offices will take the time to give you this superior restoration.
